Gold Medal Please

After ripping out my Conwy socks twice, I decided to switch olympic knitting events to a different pattern. It was vacation week, so I did not want anything too taxing. I casted on these socks on the way to the airport Saturday February 18th and finished them on the beach Friday February 24th. These "Whitby" socks were designed by Nancy Bush, another beauty in her Knitting on the Road collection. Her inspiration was a Gansy sweater she saw while visiting the coast of Yorkshire England. I knitted them in Lamb's Pride Superwash, Lichen colorway. Thank you Stephanie for hosting the Knitting Olympics.

We had a wonderful week in sunny southwest florida. Great weather, baseball and family is a sure combination for a perfect vacation.

This spectacular sand sculpture was part of the Fox Sport News New England set on Fort Myers beach.

Pictured here is the sun setting over Sanibel Island. After coming home to NH with temps in the teens, we sure do miss you Sanibel. See you next year.

Welcome back to New England! Those pictures are beautiful.

This morning, NHPR aired a report on the Team New Hampshire knitters. Here's the link. There doesn't seem to be an online audio feed, but maybe they'll add it later.
